Subjects and programs

Senior School Subjects

Senior School students have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of programs as they work towards obtaining a Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement (QCIA). Please click on the heading to obtain more information about the program.

  • Active Citizenship

    The focus of this unit is the development of knowledge and understanding of what it means to be an active and good citizen of Australia.

  • Cooking

    Students will participate in a functional program which requires them to apply their knowledge of measurement and time to carry out cooking within a team environment.

  • Digital Technology

    This unit of work focuses on students learning how to be safe on-line. They learn about the basic functions of devices and commonly used software. They develop their skills in typing, saving and retrieving information.

  • Healthy Living

    Students learn about the healthy routines they need to follow to ensure they stay fit & healthy.

  • Literacy and Numeracy

    The students are supported with their literacy and numeracy learning through subjects which draw both from the Australian Curriculum and the Guidelines for Individual Learning (GIL).

  • Personal Development

    Students develop their understanding of appropriate and inappropriate behaviour with different people and settings.

  • Travel training

    Students will consider the different forms of public transport they can utilise in the local community & learn how to access & read timetables.
