The work experience program is undertaken over the final 1-2 years of schooling and extends upon the work training program for those students who will be likely to pursue paid employment.
Additionally work experience aims to:
Provide students with an opportunity to relate what has been learnt at school within the workplace context
Prepare students for the demands and expectations of the working world
Help students make informed decisions by assessing their aptitudes and interests
Give students an insight into the diversity of fellow employees they may encounter in workplaces
Improve students’ maturity, confidence and self-reliance
Improve student knowledge, skills and attitudes concerning work
