The focus of the senior schooling years at Western Suburbs State Special School is the development of independent living and work skills that will equip students to embrace their post school pathway to their fullest potential.
All students are working towards a Queensland Certificate of Individual Achievement that is issued by the Queensland Curriculum Assessment Authority (QCAA), who provide the Guidelines for Individual Learning on which the senior school program is based.
Students are provided with a variety of work training programs that provide them with a skill set useful to their lives post-school. These programs are closely linked with characteristic future options for our school leavers.
